Keiser M3 Plus Review
Most Professional Home Spinning Bike

Leader of the Pack!

So far I wrote about all kinds of exercise bikes, including the most basic, affordable models, as well as advanced, high-end machines that cost a small fortune. The reason why I covered such a range is that I have tried to put myself in other people’s shoes, even if I haven’t walked in them.

I didn’t just want to cover bikes which I found interesting, but also to shed some light on bikes that others might have an interest in. This website is not for me, since I already have this stuff in my head, but for the people like you who are reading this, hoping to find out more about the world of home exercise bikes.

To begin with, not everybody wants a basic stationary bike. However, merely calling the Keiser M3 Plus an advanced indoor cycle would be an understatement, since the bike seems to be in a league of its own. If you want to know what makes it so special, check out my review below.

Why It Has the Edge

The first question, obviously, would be: “Why is this bike so special?” Sure, its looks are the first thing you will notice. I have to admit, this is the best looking spinning bike I have come across so far. Looking at it, I get the impression it’s made out of a single block of aluminium. Stable, sturdy, almost bulletproof. I could go on about the brushed aluminium textures and sleek lines all day long, but let’s get on with the whole review thing, which is why you’re here.

To understand why the Keiser M3 is better than other spinning cycles, I need to let tell you more about the gym-quality features. The reason why it is so expensive is that it has been designed to last a lifetime with little or no need for maintenance. After all, they have spent 10 years perfecting the design until it was finally releases to the market. Unlike other exercise bikes whose parts experience a lot of wear and tear and require replacements over and over again, the M3 Plus requires none of that, which saves you a lot of money in the long run.

Moreover, if you are interested in losing weight, you will rarely see bikes like the Keiser M3 Plus with such remarkable resistance levels and tension. Depending on your dedication and stamina, you can burn as much as 1000 calories per day using this indoor cycling bike. Even though it is incredibly well-made and has high-end features that will be appreciated by the professionals, the rest of us mere mortals will love it too, providing that we can afford it.

Putting It Together

While mounting the flywheel and other parts is a trivial task, there is one thing you need to know before you decide on the M3 Plus. Once you begin to assemble it, you will realize that you don’t get much tools to put it together. So if you don’t have a torque wrench lying around, you might run into a problem.

I don’t necessarily consider this a flaw, because I think everyone should have a decent toolbox at home. But then again, I’ve had my share of crappy apartments which made me become handier with screwdrivers and wrenches.

Features, Specifications and Comfort

The Keiser M3 Plus weighs 140 pounds and its maximum weight capacity is 300lbs. Because the bike is so heavy, transport wheels are pretty much a necessity, and of course, they are included. Both the seat and the handlebars are adjustable so that you can find a workout position you are comfortable with.

The foam-padded seat is moderately firm and very wide. Some of you might even find it too wide. It’s not the most comfortable seat out there, but it’s not the worst either. As for the noise, the only sound you will hear is the one made by the drive belt on the rear pulley, which is barely noticeable.

The LCD screen is your run-of-the-mill display, showing only the most basic info like the number of expended calories, speed and distance. Honestly, considering the retail price on this baby, I expected a lot more. Plus, since this indoor cycling bike features magnetic resistance, I don’t see any reason why the manufacturer couldn’t have provided us with some pre-set workout programs. Of course, it’s a spinning bike and not an upright exercise bike, plus once you are riding it and breaking a sweat you won’t care about the stats, but still, I would like more for my money, and I’m sure you do, too.

Magnetic Resistance

Magnetic resistance is extremely rare to come by on an indoor cycling bike, what makes the M3 pretty unique. The smooth 24-gear(!) Eddy Current Magnetic Resistance with realistic motion will definitely challenge each part of your body, while it successfully delivers the sensation of riding a traditional bike outdoors. You will definitely burn some serious calories with it, either by pushing yourself to the limit, or simply cruising at a moderate pace.

Best of all though is the extreme quiet operation of its magnetic resistance system. I won’t go technical on your here, but you can easily use this bike in your home without disturbing the rest of the family, even it’s in the middle of the living room!

The Final Word

The Keiser M3 spinning bike is expensive, but what you get for that kind of cash is top-notch quality, unparalleled reliability, sleek design and many features to make your workout more efficient. There is no doubt that it’s one of the best indoor cycling bikes out there, but its price will make it unattainable for people.

If you fall into the category of those who can afford it, it’s definitely one of the best options you can consider. If you are interested, go to Amazon and get one today.
